Cell Phone Policy for Woodward Camp
At Woodward Camp, we want to provide a fun and safe environment for all campers. We understand that in today's world, cell phones have become an important part of everyday life. However, we believe that too much screen time can interfere with the camp experience and lead to missed opportunities for social interaction and adventure. Therefore, we have implemented a cell phone policy that limits the use of cell phones to specific hours during the day.
Here are the guidelines for the cell phone policy:
- Limited Access for Personal Devices: Campers are required to turn in devices to their counselors prior to “Lights Out” in their cabins (9:30 PM for Mini-Campers, 11:00 PM for all other campers) and may retrieve them from their cabins between 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM. We encourage campers to leave cell phones in their locked cabins throughout the day.
- Access to Camp Phones: In the event of an emergency or for any necessary communication, campers may use phones provided by Woodward Camp in the Camp Office.
- Family Responsibility: Families are responsible for ensuring that their camper understands and abides by the cell phone policy as well as the Woodward Way and Code of Conduct. Families are encouraged to not provide their camper with a cell phone during their week(s) at camp.
- Policy Enforcement: Any violation of the cell phone policy may result in the confiscation of the device by camp staff and/or additional disciplinary action deemed appropriate by the camp administration.
What are the sleeping arrangements and how are roommate requests placed?
Campers are housed in cabins by gender, age (within 2 years), and sport. Roommate requests are placed through your Registration Portal. There is a limit of 3 roommate requests per camper.

Expand to view our ADA Animal Policy
ADA Animal Policy
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Woodward permits service animals in all areas open to the general public, with the exceptions noted below. If a guest with a service animal would like to visit an area for a special event that is not otherwise accessible to the service animal, Woodward will strive to provide alternative transport to the location, dependent on the location, weather conditions, and other variables. Given the unique winter and summer environmental conditions, extreme terrain, and weather, Woodward recommends that guests provide as much advance notice as possible when seeking alternative transportation. According to the ADA, only dogs and miniature horses are recognized as service animals.
Woodward does not permit service animals to accompany guests beyond the ticket scanning equipment at Woodward locations or facilities, including on chairlifts during summer and winter operations. This policy is based on legitimate safety requirements, as determined by Woodward, to protect the safety of other guests and employees, as well as the safety of the service animal itself. Areas beyond the ticket scanning equipment include skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking terrain, skateparks, foam pits, drop ramps, trampolines, and airbags.
A service animal must be under the control of its handler at all times. A service animal must have a harness, leash, or other tether unless either the handler is unable because of a disability to use a harness, leash, or other tether, or if the use of a harness, leash, or other tether would interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of its work or tasks, in which case the service animal must be otherwise under the handler’s control (e.g., voice control, signals or other effective means).
Authorized personnel may request a service animal be removed from the premises if: (1) the animal is out of control and the animal’s handler does not take immediate effective action to control it, or (2) the animal is not housebroken. If the service animal is removed, Woodward will make all reasonable efforts to give the individual with a disability the opportunity to participate in the services or activities without having the service animal on the premises.”
