We have a team of medical staff to handle minor illnesses/injuries and medical emergencies. There are live-in Registered Nurses available 24/7 who handle camper illnesses and medication distribution. In addition, a team of athletic trainers handle wound care and injuries.

At Woodward, the safety and wellbeing of our campers and staff are the priority. We know injuries could happen at any time and anywhere, this is why every staff member is taught to handle a medical emergency the same way. We also have Registered Nurses and Certified Athletic Trainers staffed to handle medical situations.

In addition, Parents/Guardians are communicated for any injury to the face/head, if a camper is needed off-site medical care, or if they are taken out of participation for longer than 2 hours. Please view our Parent Guide for more detailed information.

Great question! The quickest way to find out if your helmet is certified by CPSC is to look for a sticker on the inside or on the packaging. If you are unsure please call the front office for assistance. Look for a sticker that says:

• “Complies with U.S. CPSC Bike Safety Standard” or
• “Complies with ASTM Skate Safety Standard”

Epi-pens and other forms of medications will be checked in with medical staff upon arrival.
Food allergies: Our food offerings accommodate the most common food allergies, but if your camper has a unique food allergy, please note it in the camper medical form and please feel free to contact us to discuss the options to accommodate your camper’s needs.
Other allergies: All allergies are communicated with our medical team and other appropriate staff. Insect allergies are addressed immediately by medical staff.
